The drive was alright; It took nine and a half hours to get here and Dad called me about sixteen times “just checking in.” During one of the calls he said, “call me when you cross into Carolina.”
I said, “I’m already in Carolina.”
“Oh, how far in to Carolina are you?”
“Oh, I don’t know. About half a Gov’t Mule CD and a little bit of Terry Anderson.”

I rolled in around 6:30 PM and dove right into rehearsal with The OAK Team. I haven’t seen these guys since December of last year and it felt like we saw each other yesterday. The crazy antics picked up right where we had left off.

After rehearsal Terry took me to meet Ashley Carter who so kindly offered to let me stay with her. Ashley is a musician / songwriter here in Raleigh with the group Stella Lively. She took me out to some clubs last night to hear some bands and I was blown away by a group called The Static Minds. They are a living, breathing, “everything that was great about ‘70s rock n roll.” They reminded me of a combination of The MC5, Brownsville Station, AC/DC, & Alice Cooper. I bought their record...on vinyl.

Looking forward to my gig tonight at The Carolina Brewery in Pittsboro, NC.
